Company History
The Robert Emmet Company was founded
in 1987 by the late Robert Emmet
Reilly. Mr. Reilly was an avid
student of Irish history and
culture, and wished to build a
business around his love of all
things Irish. Realizing that the
demand for Irish and Celtic themed
gifts exceeded the quantity and
variety that a small country like
Ireland could produce, he founded
one of the very first United
States-based companies in the
market.
Today, Robert Emmet Company
manufactures over 300 products, the
vast majority of which are made
locally. We work with a variety of
jewelry and gift-related suppliers
in the Providence, Rhode Island area
to produce a truly home-grown
product line.
Robert Emmet Company products are
currently available in over 400
retail gift shops throughout the
U.S. and Canada, as well as in
several major gift catalogues and a
variety of Irish Gift web sites.
Thomas
Reilly, President
Mr.
Reilly, son of Robert Emmet Reilly,
joined his father in 1990 and helped
build the business from a tiny,
basement-based outfit into what it
is today. Although he never
envisioned running an Irish Gift
company (not what he went to College
for!), today he couldn’t imagine
doing anything else. Tom is
eternally grateful for the help and
support of his wife Dawn and sons
Sean and Timothy.
David
Duggan, Sales Manager
Mr.
Duggan has been an indispensable
part of the Robert Emmet Company
team since 1998. Dave has always had
a keen interest in his Irish
heritage. He is past President of
the New Bedford chapter of the
Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and is
very active in the local
Irish-American community. Dave is on
the road frequently visiting
customers, but always looks forward
to returning home to his wife Anne
and children Julie and Sean. |
